Elfy has Arrived!

I am sure many of you have heard of the Elf on a shelf...
well ours arrived at are house this weekend!

I am so excited to start this Christmas tradition with Addison!

The entire point of the elf on the shelf is for good behavior!
Every night the Elf reports back to Santa to tell if you have been naughty or nice that day.
When the elf returns he is in a new spot around the house watching you.

We have friends that have done this with there kids and they LOVE it! They even bring him out during year when they have been acting up and it works great :)

Addison already knows our elf's name... Elfy ... and looks for him every day when you say his name.
Its the little things that make Christmas so much fun!

Remember the count down starts tomorrow... 25 days until Jesus birthday!
I am very excited to share special traditions we are starting with Addison to help her learn the true meaning of Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Meredith

Luke 2:9-12
And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. (10) And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (12) And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Christmas Crafts

What you need:
Ornament balls ( I used old ones that I already had)
Modge podge
paint brush
tissue paper

Directions:

1. These are the balls I used
2. I then took the tissue paper and cut it in to strips.
It is easier to work with..
3. Paint the modge podge on the ornament
4. Stick the tissue paper to the ornament.
5.Then paint over the tissue paper with modge podge ( this dries clear so use enough to make it stick)
(It took me a while but I got them all covered!)

6.  Let them dry over night to make sure the underneath is not sticky.

7.Finished product
Super easy and a great way to decorate for cheap!

Happy Tuesday!

Merry Christmas,

days 22..23..24..

Today we didn't do much besides relax at home
..... and it was great!
We haven't had a day at home in a while.

A stayed busy with painting pumpkins for our Thanksgiving dinner center pieces
They turned out too cute and she loved it!

I made a yummy meal I found on Pintrest and just relaxed the rest of the day and got caught up on house cleaning and laundry.
Crock Pot cream cheese chicken chili
2 chicken breasts, still frozen
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 can corn kernels, do not drain
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
1 T cumin
1 t chili powder
1 t onion powder
1 8-oz pkg. cream cheese
_________
Put the chicken in the crock pot.
Top with the corn, drained and rinsed beans,
ranch dressing, cumin, onion and chili powders,
stir to combine then top with the cream cheese.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours, stirring one or twice
 to blend in the cheese.
Shred the chicken into large pieces

Hope everyone has a very thankful, fun-filled, food Thanksgiving!

A Busy but Fun weekend!

I think almost every weekend in December is booked with something at least one out of the two days or some weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Which is a great reminder to sit down, read my bible, talk to Brent and love on Addison because no matter how busy I am these things always come first!

This week/ weekend has been crazy.. not much hanging out out at the Penzo house!

Friday, Addison and I started our day with some of our sweet friends, Stacey and Rahley, with a play date at there new house. The girls are only about 6 weeks apart and have so much fun together... we are still working on sharing though! haha

Picking cheerios up off the floor!

We came home for a quick nap and then out again to meet Brent's mom at the NWA boutique show. We found a few goodies and of course we had to get a cupcake from Bliss! Yummmmm!
Later that night, Brent and I had the chance to go out on a date.
We went out to eat and shopping.
It's always nice to have a little alone time every once in a while!

Saturday, we watched the Hogs win!
 WOO PIG SOOIE!
Hung out at my parents for a little while, then headed to see the lights on the square.
This was our 1st time to go watch the parade and lights be turned on!
We will defiantly be going back because Addison LOVED it!
We met up with a few friends and walked around then all headed out to eat.

 Amazed by the lights!

Our favorite right now... Mickey Mouse!

Santa even flew in for the parade! :)

We had so much fun!

Today, we had big plans ....
early church, because I had a shower to attend in Fort Smith for one of my sorority sisters and Addison was joining me. I wanted her to get a good nap in before our hour car drive together! haha
BUT....
That quickly came to a halt when we woke up not feeling well. She had a horrible stuffy nose and cough but I thought it was just "normal" because we have had this for a couple of days..
well seems like weeks...
and it usually goes away by the mid-morning.
She went down for a early nap and I went to run a few errands. While I was gone Brent took her to get something to eat and it all went down hill from there...

She got sick in the car. We thought it was just from her coughing and she acted fine, ate all her lunch and was her normal self afterwards.
We got dressed, had the car loaded up and headed to Fort Smith. Brent had set up the computer for Addison to watch Mickey Mouse on the way and about to Greenland it stopped working.... so I pulled over ( totally a God thing) and turned around to talk to A and......
needless to say we have the stomach bug at our house! :(
Our poor sweet Addison is sick once again.
Please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Love,
The Penzo's

I am thankful for play dates with friends! I have enjoyed getting to know the girls better and also watching Addison interact with kids her age!

Day 19
I am thankful for good health. Addison has been sick a lot lately it seems but nothing major that a little loving cant fix!

Day 20
I am thankful for my sweet high school friends! After all these years I cant believe we have all stayed so close!  They mean so much to me.
(does this bring back some memories or what?? hahaha)
