Counting our blessings!

This morning around 10:00 Brent recieved a phone call....

HE HAD GOT THE JOB!

He is going to be working in the transportation part of Tyson.

I can not tell you how blessed and excited we are. It is so neat to see God answer our prayers!
Right when we were feeling a little down- God showed us that he was still working in our lives.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Proverbs 3:5

I am beyond excited and proud of Brent. He has worked so hard for this.
I pray that he loves his job and can honor God through it!
I love you Brent Tyler!

The rest of the day Addison and I went shopping for a new car seat. It is sad to think she is out growing her infant one. Not having much luck we headed to my parents for dinner where my mom had a suprise for her.
A new TOY!

Taking her first few steps... Getting so big!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Count your blessings!

No Nap Thursday....

Man was Thursday a LONG day.....

We started the day off with Brent having a interview with Tyson.
We have been praying for God to bless our family with a new job. He finally received a interview and we were beyond excited!!
Now playing the waiting game.....
my 2 loves!

While Daddy was gone we did a few things around the house.
Addison LOVED the washing machine.. she acted like she had never seen it before.
Sure hope she still likes it when she gets older.. ;)

After refusing to go down for our morning nap, we got ready and headed out with my mom for the day!

Addison LOVES furniture shopping.... our kind of girl!

After dinner at my parents we headed home
AND
By 10:00 we had still not taken a nap
...that called for a long day...

You moms out there know that nap time is about the only time you can get anything done...
so all in all my house was a MESS! haha

M.O.P.S

For the past several months I have been attending a church group called M.O.P.S ( Moms of pre-schoolers)
This is a group of women with children that get together once a month. We always have a speaker come and talk about everyday things moms go through. It has been a GREAT experience and I would recommend this to any mom of any age! I have learned so much and God has blessed me with meeting some amazing women.

This past week we talked about photography and "how" to take good pictures of our children.
We got so many great tips! I have been practicing but still not the best yet! haha

The part that impacted me the most, is what legacy do you want to leave behind in your pictures to your children?

I thought about this question a lot.... what do I want Addison to know about her childhood?

I want her to know that she grew up in a Godly household where we LOVED each other and God, I want her to see we did fun things as a family, and most importantly that we were there every step of the way ...from day one!

But how can we show her these things if we are not in the picture with her? This was her challenge for us. Take a pictures with your children because they want to remember you because you could be gone before you know it. Pictures mean so much to people and your children do not care what you look like, if you have no make-up on, or you think your to big..... all they care about is that there Mommy and Daddy took that sweet picture with them!

So this is my challenge for you moms out there or soon-to-be, take pictures with your sweet babys.
If you are not a mom I challenge you to take  pictures with your mom ,dad, and grandparents to show your kids one day the legacy they left you!

This week has been a hard week for our family. One of Brent's friends from elementary and high school passed away. As we went to the funeral today my heart broke for the family. As a mom I can not imagine losing a child. You always think that you are suppose to go first. I pray that they trust in God to get them through this hard time in there life. He has and had a purpose for what happened.

I pray that this is a wake up call- It sure was for me. To know you could be gone in a second makes you realize how precious and short you life here on earth is and what is really important. Our God is one great and amazing God and should be given all our praise. I thank him so much for giving me the time I have had!

My Grandmother also found out she starts chemo Monday. Please pray for strength for her and courage. She is a strong woman and I know God will give her strength to get through this hard chapter in her life.

Praying for you Robyn and your sweet family. I know how hard it is to lose a grandparent. Know that we are here for you as you were with us for our loss of Bobo!

I hope everyone has a great week! Be very thankful!

One exciting weekend!

We had one exciting weekend!

Over the past few weeks my dad has been planning a surprise birthday party for my mom! He had contacted some of her friends and asked them to help.
He had everything all planned out. Last night he took my mom out to dinner and to go shopping for her birthday. During that time my moms friends came over to my parents house to help set up and around 6:30 everyone arrived.
Caleb, my brother, then texted my dad to inform him that they need to come home because he had made a "sweet chip shot with a golf ball into the back glass door"( those are his words ha). My dad called "mad" and said they were headed home.
We had all the cars parked at the neighbors so she had no idea. As they were walking up to the front door ... we all yelled SURPRISE! My moms face was priceless. She had no idea!
My Dad did a GREAT job!!
I cant believe we pulled it off. With the help of Dad,Mrs. Esther, Mrs. Kenna, my Nana, brothers and Brent everything turned out perfect.

I will post pictures soon , they are on my moms camera!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Today was a very special day. It not only was my very 1st mothers day but we also dedicated Addison at church. This is a statement we make in front of the church that we will do our best to raise our child in a christian home and teach her to follow God's word.
It was so special to look out in the audience and see my parents and grandmother out there. I could not ask for a better way to spend our day!
They presented us with a bible that said her name, made a family picture of us and also 2 certificates.
One for baby dedication and the other was the meaning of Addison's name in spiritual connotation and scripture.

Addison: In God's Image
"And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues and be careful to observe my ordinances."
Ezekiel 36:27

I told brent I can not wait to use this and put it in her room some way. I had no idea what Addison ment when we choose it... and now I believe with all my heart we choose the absolute perfect name and is what I want to Addison to live by- trying to be God's image.

God has blessed me with the most amazing little girl and given me the honor to be her mom! I could never thank him enough. He has also blessed me with the BEST mom in the world. She has been with me through thick and thin and I know would do anything in the world for us. My mom is my best friend and I look up to her for being a great christian mother, married to my dad for almost 30 years, raising 4 children, beautiful inside and out and being there for us every step of the way!
I love you! Thanks for being super-mom!

Rainy Day Art Project!

During all this rain ... I decide to complete my art project I have been wanting to do since we moved in!

Of course I had a little bit of help from Brent! :)

It all started with this... Kiwi paint!

I saw in a pottery barn magazine .. my favorite place ...a colored square or what ever shape you wanted on a  wall with picture frames inside of the shape.

Right beside our door we have a blank wall and I was having the hardest time finding something to decorate it with- when I saw this, I thought it would be perfect for our little spot!

Our living room has accents of this green in it so I was so excited to paint a big square/ rectangle!

Addison helping Daddy tape!
Brent told her he was going to glue her to the middle of it... she thought that was funny!
We were a little scared of the color at first.....
but LOVED the result!
We added picture frames and then...
The finished product!!
I am going to fill the remainder of the frames with black and white wedding pictures.

We added the memory verse and it made it perfect!

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! Joshua 24:15

I choose this verse because it is something Brent and I cling to. Our prayer is for our family to serve the Lord in every way possible and what better way to remind us of that, then having it on our wall to look at every day!

Please contunie to keep my Grandmother in your prayers. She is having a hard time copping with the fact of actually having cancer. I pray that Gods will be done in her life and he works a miracle.

Have a great week! I know we have a busy one!
