Matt 6:19

¹⁹ “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on

earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

2. Whatever you treasure will be what owns you

Matt 6:20-21

²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

3. You can not serve God and money

Matt 6:24

²⁴ “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

4 REASONS WHY WE WORRY

1. Do not over estimate the importance of "stuff"

Matt 6:25

²⁵ “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

* Philippians 4:19'-

¹⁹ And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

2. We doubt our value before God

Matt 6:26

²⁶ Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

* God feeds the birds so why do we doubt he will be there for us?

3. We don't realize worry is useless

Matt 6:27

²⁷ Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life^[a]?

4. We simply do not trust God

Matt 6:28

²⁸ “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin

Matt 6:33

³³ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

- Don't worry God knows every need

Every time we worry it is a faith issue and a sin issue.

Romans 14:23

²³ But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
