12 Days of Christmas!

This past week and half I have been doing the 12 days of Christmas for Brent. I found this idea on.. of course..  Pinterest and thought it was so cute!
Every day you write a little note and put candy, fruit or anything they like with it.
Addison loved giving Brent his everyday!

It was such a fun little daily reminder of how much Brent means to me!
( and he loved it as well:) )

Addison and I also worked on cute little name tags for our presents this week!
They turned out so cute and were so easy to make!

What you need:
4 Cups of Flour
1 cup of Salt
1 1/2 cups of Water
( this makes about 12 hand prints)

Directions:
1.Combine ingredients and knead dough for 5 to 10 minutes.
2.Roll dough out and cut around hand or cut circles out for making hand imprints.

3.Make a small hole for the hanger and prick to prevent air bubbles.
4.Bake at 300ºF about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
( make sure you spray the cookie sheet with Pam or use a non-stick sheet)

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Luke 2:15-16
When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger

This past Sunday, we celebrated our 1st Christmas with Brents Grandparents.
His Nona cooks a bunch of appetizer type foods and yummy desserts!
We are having so much fun with Addi this year.
She is really getting in to opening gifts. It is so fun to watch!

 Loving on daddy!

Addison had so much fun but was worn out!

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!
We are so excited to Celebrate Jesus Birthday this weekend with Addison and family!

1st Gingerbread house!

This week we did our 1st gingerbread house.
Addison was not to interested with building it but the candy..... she loved!

She kept eyeing what Daddy would drop and would try to grab it before he had a chance to pick it up.
We had a ton of gum balls left over from her 1st birthday party, so we got those out to use as well. Addison has a obsession with gum.
She loves it!!
The finished product!
Sad to say it fell apart about an hour after we made it but it was fun while it lasted!

Merry Christmas!
Meredith

Christmas Q&A

One of my sorority sisters,Savannah, blogged this Q&A a couple days ago so I thought I would link up with her and do the same thing! Feel free to do the same- I love hearing new traditions and ideas for Christmas!

1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? - Hot Chocolate with marshmallows... YUMM!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree? - We have a few big Santa presents that are unwrapped. This year with Addi we are leaving one big toy out from Santa then the rest are from Mommy and Daddy.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? - White lights for sure!

4. Do you hang mistletoe? - No, but my mom does in her house. Brent kisses Addison under it every time :)

5. When do you put your decorations up? - Thanksgiving weekend. I love Christmas and the earliest chance I have to decorate I jump on it!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? - twice backed potatoes. My mom lets each of us kids choose a dish we want for Christmas and mine is always this!

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? - I have so many.... Going to pick out our Christmas tree, decorating it, making cookies, candle light service at church, sprinkling reindeer dust outside and waking up super early Christmas morning!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? - I honestly don't remember. With Addison we are "doing Santa" in our house. He is not a big deal but a very small part of Christmas. Knowing the real meaning of Christmas with Jesus birthday is the most important part....But nothing wrong with having a little fun with your little ones.

9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? - No, but we do have a family tradition where who ever finds the pickle that my Dad hides on the tree, gets to choose one present and open it!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? - Like this: None of our ornaments match but they are each so special to us.

11. Snow! love it or dread it? - Love, love, love it! :)

12. Can you ice skate? - um... that would be a no. Every time I try, I fall but begged Brent to in Dallas.. answer was still no. haha

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? - As a child- it would have to be my American Girl doll- Samantha. We had all matching outfits. As a teen- have to be the cellphone. Now it would be spending time with family and being able to share this fun time with Addi!

14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you? - Knowing the true meaning of Christmas, with Jesus birth and celebrating his birthday. Also taking time out of our busy schedules to spend time with family, take pictures, and fellowship together.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? - My grandma's homemade sugar cookies

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? - picking out our real Christmas tree

17. What tops your tree? - Ribbon and glitter picks.

18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving? - Giving, for sure!

19. Candy canes: yuck or yum? - Yummy! I love anything peppermint.

20. Favorite Christmas movie? - White Christmas and the Grinch

21. Saddest Christmas song? - ???

22. What is your favorite Christmas song? - I love all Christmas music! I like all the oldies, but right now my favorite is the song called- "What is Christmas"

Hope every one has a fun weekend!
Merry Christmas

Where is Elfy?

Every morning we ask Addison ... "Where is Elfy?"
And she LOVES to find him.
These are a few of his favorite hang outs...

Update:
 Addison is doing much better.
We are back to our destructive self.. my house is no longer clean haha.
But.. I am soo thankful for that!
She is still on her antibiotics and has a bad cough and stuffy nose but no temp which is a huge plus!
Thank you for all the kind thoughts and prayers!

Merry Christmas!
