Sweet Dollops

Tuesday night I got to have a much needed girls night.
Before heading out I was getting dressed and Addison wanted to as well....
She wanted to wear a "dress" and shoes like mommy! ha
Doesn't she have great style! ha

A sweet friend and soon to be neighbor started her own business, Sweet Dollops, a new miniature treat shop! So she threw a taste test party... and it was SOO yummy!
Seriously, do these not look yummy?
These were "make your own fruit Pizza" ... PERFECT for a baby or wedding showers!

There was a huge variety from.. peanut butter, oreo, iced cookies, cheesecake, brownie, vanilla and strawberry cupcakes... I had to taste pretty much all of them and not one was a disappointment!

If you live in NWA area follow her on twitter @Sweetdollops for updates or email Ashleigh at sweetdollops.com for pricing and to place an order!
You will LOVE them!

Have a great week!

Iphone Picture unload

This past week/weekend has been busy but so fun!
We enjoyed it with great friends and family.

Thursday, we met Gigi at the fabric store to pick out some new things for the house.
I am having so much fun with this. Decorating is my thing and I am so excited to get to start from basically scratch! I worked on our bedroom Thursday and picked out new fabric for our head board... here's a little sneak peak..
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we spent mostly at the "pool." We bought Addison a little plastic pool and it has been the best $8.00 we have EVER spent! She absolutely loves it and would spend hours in it if we would let her!

Memorial day we spent the morning at home relaxing.
 My sweet Hubby and I
 Pretty much our life....  ha
 Love these two!

Then we headed to a friends home for a cook out!
We had so much fun with everyone.

Love all these sweet girls that are all so close in age!

We ended the night with the guys playing rock band.
It was a great way to end the memorial day weekend with great friends!

John 15:13 there is no greater love than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."
Thankful for the men and women that served our country and continue to serve!!
a special thank u to my Dad, Grandfathers and brother who just began his military journey!
WE love you!

A big purchase!

As I am typing this I still can't believe we did it...
Brent and I bought our 1st home!

We are beyond excited, nervous, and scared about this big decision.
BUT It all worked out perfectly in Gods timing and is his planning.

We went a few weeks ago to look at a home that was on the market. After looking through it, it just wasn't the right place... inside the kitchen was small, no pantry (moms you know that is a huge selling point) and outside it was super close to a busy road with very little yard.
When we decided it was a no, Our Realtor drove us to a neighborhood right down the street.
All the homes were sold but she took us in one to see the layout so we could talk to the builder about building us one.

We walked in the home and fell in love.
It was perfect.
Everything I had pictured for our 1st home and more! I remember looking at Brent saying "this is a bad idea. This home was custom built for someone and I know out of our price range."

After discussing prices we decided to meet with the builder. Both Brent and I were so nervous. You never realize what a huge decision you are making until it is right in front of you.
When meeting with the builder he discussed our options and then at the end he mentioned that the home we went into may be back on the market. The buyers offer was falling through and asked if we would be interested instead of building one and they would let us know in a few days.

Those next couple of days we prayed and asked God to show us where he wanted us to be. Brent laughs because I prayed for that house. I asked God to open it if we are suppose to be in this neighborhood, if this was the right time to be buying and if we were ready.

Last Thursday we got the call.... we had ONE day to put a offer on this home if we wanted it before they were going to put in back on the market. We scrambled and got everything together, met our realtor at the house and signed our life away.
We close on June 18th!

I look back and think about how fast we made that decision but God was evident every step of the way. He opened the doors over and over again making us fill at ease with everything.
He has showed us sign after sign that this is where we are suppose to be.

God is so faithful. I was praying about a little thing that was not a need but more of a want and God showed me he does fulfill those desires at HIS timing. I am so thankful we serve such a giving and loving God that answers prays with in days.. not always the way we want him to but in his perfect timing and love. He knows the best for us.
This experience has taught me to sit back and let God be in control... and let me tell you that is not easy for me. I like to have everything planned out, know right away what I will be doing ... I like to be in CONTROL! .... but I have learned fast that's not how it works. I have learned that being humble and sitting back and giving it into Gods hands the outcome has been better then I could even imagine!

We are so excited!!
Have a great weekend!

A Day spent with Mommy!

Today, was my last day of teaching my sweet 2 year olds before they are out for the SUMMER.
It was a crazy but fun day!
To add to the craziness I had a little tag along today... my sweet Addison!

She did really great. At 1st A did not understand why Gigi was not coming to pick her up but then was soon distracted by toys, singing songs, reading stories, and chapel!
It was so fun to watch her interact with all the other older children.
With being a only child sharing is not our strong point so today was GOOD for her.

Enjoying some sunshine while playing outside with our new friends!
After outside time we came in to eat lunch. She looks like such a big girl!
She LOVED eating with everyone.
 Cupcake time...
By about noon Addison was ready for a nap. She walked around asking for her blanky and nap... she was so sleepy!
Slumber party was our theme today.
We all went in to chapel..
 .. and watched veggie tales..
 .. ate popcorn..
 (it was every where)
And painted the girls nails and toe nails with piggy paint!
They LOVED it!
We had such a fun day! By the time we loaded up in the car, Addison was already asleep!
Poor girl was tired and so was I!
Glad for the break this summer but going to miss my sweet 2 year olds.
Hope you have a great wednesday!

Better late then never!

So, now that it is almost a week past mothers day... I thought I would go ahead and blog about it!
Better late then never I guess.

We spent my 2nd mothers day at the Tulsa zoo! Sunday we got up early and made our drive to Tulsa.
Addison did pretty good.. by the end she was ready to be out of the car but our dvd player and mickey mouse saved us.

We took Addi to the zoo when she was about 9 months old...
She was so little then.
With her walking and talking we thought it would be a great time to take her again.

1st stop was the monkeys. That was her absolute favorite!
She made monkey sounds, blew them kisses and said "luv you" a million times.

She was so excited to ride the carousel. Brent asked her which one she wanted to ride and she choose the elephant by saying what sound it makes. She is really into animals right now.

 This was Addison's kitty cat
We had so much fun!
Addison went all day with no nap so by the time we got home that night we were all ready for bed!

I am so thankful that God choose me to be this sweet girls mommy! I look back at how unexpected the entire situation was and how I thought my life was over but it had only just begun. God was with me every step of the way putting each puzzle piece where it needed to be. I could not imagine my life with out her!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
